MUUD Health is a HIPAA-covered entity. Your protected health information (PHI) is safeguarded under 45 CFR Part 164. By proceeding, you acknowledge that MUUD Health may use and disclose your health information for the following purposes:

Treatment: We share information with your care team to provide coordinated medical and mental health services.

Payment: We may use your information to bill insurance companies or process payment for services rendered.

Healthcare Operations: We use aggregate, de-identified data to improve quality, training, and accreditation activities.

Your Rights: You have the right to (1) access and receive a copy of your health records, (2) request corrections to your records, (3) request restrictions on certain uses and disclosures, (4) receive a list of disclosures, and (5) file a complaint with the Secretary of HHS.

By booking an appointment, you agree to MUUD Health's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Key terms include:

Cancellation Policy: Appointments must be cancelled or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations may result in a $50 no-show fee.

No-Show Policy: Missed appointments without 24-hour notice will be charged a $50 no-show fee.

Payment Terms: Payment is due at time of service. We accept major credit cards, FSA, and HSA. Superbills provided for insurance reimbursement.

Limitation of Liability: MUUD Health's liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific service in question. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.

Yes — fully. MUUD Health is a HIPAA-covered entity operating under 45 CFR Part 164. All data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3). We maintain Business Associate Agreements with all third-party vendors, conduct annual HIPAA security risk assessments, and have a designated Privacy Officer. Our platform was built from the ground up to exceed HIPAA minimums — not just comply with them. See our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices for full details.
Most patients are seen within 48–72 hours of booking. Our calendar shows real-time availability for the next 30 days (Monday–Friday). If you need same-day support for a non-emergency situation, contact us at care@muudhealth.com or (323) 609-5936 and we'll do our best to accommodate you. For mental health emergencies, please call 988 or 911 immediately.
Psychiatric care is provided by a board-certified psychiatrist (MD or DO) and involves clinical diagnosis, medication management, and evidence-based psychotherapy. It is appropriate for conditions like depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and other diagnosed mental health conditions.

Wellness coaching is provided by an NBHWC-certified health and wellness coach and focuses on lifestyle optimization, stress management, habit formation, mental fitness, and peak performance. It is not therapy and does not involve diagnosis or medication. Many patients benefit from both services working in coordination — our integrated care model supports this.
MUUD Health is an out-of-network provider for most insurance plans. We provide itemized superbills within 24 hours of every session, which you can submit directly to your insurance company for reimbursement. Many patients receive 40–80% reimbursement for psychiatric services under their out-of-network benefits. We accept FSA and HSA cards for payment. To confirm your reimbursement eligibility, call the member services number on the back of your insurance card and ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits.
We require at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment without a fee. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before your appointment will incur a $50 late cancellation fee. No-shows without any notice are also charged $50. To cancel or reschedule, email care@muudhealth.com or call (323) 609-5936. We understand emergencies happen — contact us as early as possible and we'll work with you.
Yes — the evidence is clear. More than 15 peer-reviewed studies (including landmark research from JAMA Psychiatry and the American Journal of Psychiatry) demonstrate equivalent clinical outcomes for telehealth versus in-person psychiatric care for the majority of conditions including depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, and bipolar disorder maintenance. In many studies, telehealth patients showed better adherence to treatment plans, likely due to reduced barriers to access. All MUUD Health providers are experienced telehealth clinicians.
